As trustees of that worthy goal, educators strive to produce excellence in every student's academic life. New emphasis from state and federal government has not changed that original goal. Instead, it has sharpened our focus on the need to make sure everything we teach, everything we spend, and everything we model, leads to improved student achievement....

Reedley Middle College High School named 2024 California Distinguished School

Celebrations

The California Department of Education (CDE)  announced Thursday that Reedley Middle College High School (RMCHS) has been designated as a California Distinguished School. This recognition is bestowed on schools that demonstrate exceptional commitment to student achievement and innovative educational practices. RMCHS previously earned this distinction in 2021, underscoring the school's sustained dedication to excellence.

Kings Canyon Unified Superintendent John Campbell expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Kings Canyon Unified continues to produce outstanding student achievement both at Reedley Middle College High School and all 22 schools in the district. This award is significant recognition of the hard work of our students, staff, and community. Kings Canyon Unified is indeed a special place and definitely a distinguished district."

"Through the tireless efforts of students and staff, RMCHS continues to excel,” Principal Josh Darnell said. “We are providing an amazing opportunity for students to get an early start on their college career."

Reedley Middle College High School is a charter school is located on the Reedley College Campus, giving students an opportunity to take college level classes during their normal school day. By the end of their senior year many students have a high school diploma and an associate degree.
